Louise Lapointe (President)

Click to zoom the imageDescendant of Nicolas's son Joseph who left l'Île d'Orléans and spent some time in Isle-aux-Coudres and St-Irénée. Her grandfather Arthur Lapointe in Cap-à-l'Aigle (la Malbaie), in Charlevoix county is the 9th generation.  Her father Jean took residence in Québec before his marriage in 1947. Several of her grandparents Arthur and Caroline Lessard's descendants still reside in Cap-à-l'Aigle on family grounds or the surroundings.

She retired in 1997 after a 30 year career with Bell Canada… after a short break, she took up a 2nd career in the communications domain and where she is still almost a full time working girl.

Genealogy interest started in 2001… her curiosity which allowed her to renew paternal family ties  quickly changed into passion. This enthusiasm  prompted her to join the Association only weeks after it's creation and  motivated her to devote her spare time in developing a relationship with all the Cousins Audet-Lapointe  and great kinsfolk via ADNAL.

Gaston Audet-Lapointe (First Vice President)

Click to zoom the imageGaston Audet-Lapointe is born on Jannuary 7, 1945 in Nantes (a municipality adjacent to Lac-Megantic). He is the 4th child of a family of six children. In 1966, with a diploma from the "Institut des arts graphiques de Montréal", he finds work as an appraiser in the printing offices of the Canadian government in Hull, and works also as a computer analyst. In 1982, he completes his BA in Administration at the University of Ottawa.

In 1996, following the sale of this government printing office to the private sector, he is offered a retirement package after 30 years of service. He is the father of two girls: Anik, Sophie and a son: Yves.

He has been working, during the past 7 years, at preparing a genealogical dictionary to include all the Audet dit Lapointe and Beaulé descendants. An important project that allows him to meet others interested in genealogy; where together, they have recently founded the Association of the Descendants of Nicolas Audet dit Lapointe inc., on April 23, 2002.

Guy St-Hilaire (Second Vice President and Historian)

Click to zoom the imageBorn July 12, 1939 in Lévis, from a Lapointe originally from the Bergeronnes (North-Shore), Guy St-Hilaire is the oldest in a family of four children living in St-Romuald, but doesn't have a descendant. Having obtained several university diplomas in the Arts, Theology and Law, he has also experienced working outside the country (Italy, Vietnam, Uruguay and Syria) for more than 12 years.  From 1977 to his retirement in 2003, he was a judge of the Federal Administrative Tribunal in Montreal, then moves to Gatineau where he now resides.

Even very young, he was always interested in his family history. He first started as a hobby in 1953 doing historical and genealogical research resulting in the publishing of several articles. In March 1986, he publishes the history of his mother's family called  "Les Lapointe des Bergeronnes", where he questions, with the help of new information being made available not considered by his predecessors, certain facts concerning the pioneering ancestor called Nicolas Audet dit Lapointe. Since then, he follows with a critical eye everything new that is published on the biography of this ancestor. In January 1992, he was recognized Maître généalogiste agréé.  Solicited by the founding President, he is since June 2003, one of the administrators of the Association of the Descendants of Nicolas Audet dit Lapointe inc. (ADNAL).

Alicia Dufour (Treasurer)

Click to zoom the imageA native of Isle-aux-Coudres, she is born on November 12, 1950.  She leaves her native Island with her family in 1963 after more than 240 years of direct lineage on the Island, as much with her maternal side, Gagnon, as she does on her paternal side.  Therefore, it is easy to follow the ties on both sides of her family.  Since the Lapointe's have also passed by Isle-aux-Coudres, she considers herself a distant relative with her husband, André Lapointe.

After her arrival in Pointe-aux-Trembles, she specializes in accounting and works at this profession until her retirement coinciding with her husband's retirement.  She has a gift for memorizing names and helps her husband in genealogy.  She looks after the finances for the association, and does a little genealogy herself when the summer flower season has terminated.
